Could anyone tell me how to use the search facility on this forum?  I've tried but it doesn't seem to work ... or I must be doing it wrong, which is more likely.

Oops! this is the edited bit ....  I can't find some of my postings I made in May!

John.

I think the search is quite restricted. It appears you can not search bu author alone. However you can search by keyword and limit that to author. Also you appear to have to know which section of the forum you posted it in.
So id I search for the word "scarborough" with author "john bates" in "ride outs and one day events" it returns 1 topic and will then show all posting under that topic. Its not a brilliant search facility

Thanks Paul,

That's what I found, but I thought I may have been using it wrongly.  In the meantime I've written to Duffie to ask for his help in the things I'm searching for.

Hi David,

Sorry if I have put you to any bother, but after I clicked on help at the top of the Forum page (in between Online and Create a free blog) it states the following:

Administrators and Moderators are able to :
- Ban a member, then he cannot access anymore.
- Make him as the weakest link (+ What is it?)
- Remove posts and topics
- Close or move topics
- Edit posts
- Remove all posts from a user
- Remove avatars and quotes.
- Forbid a member to post pictures.

So I thought you would be able to help me, but it doesn't matter Dave, if my postings have gone missing there has to be another explanation ... thank you very much for trying anyway.
