It's taken until now to wake up properly to be able to respond.

The Pickering 1940's weekend was a super event.  We went for the weekend and met Neil and Merilyn there for an hour on Sunday afternoon. We travelled to Grosmont on the steam train and everywhere, almost everyone was clad in wartime uniforms and dress.  If you are interested take a look on this page of my website.  Jean has put four slide shows on there!
